A collaboration between Swedish men’s denim brand Indigofera and Miriam Parkman, The High Coast collection is based on a mutual appreciation for the magnificence of nature and the knowledge of craft.
Being the first women’s wear collection for Indigofera, it’s a trail blazer for female work wear yet it follows the same high quality, long-lasting and classic design that signifies the brand. Designed by me with inspiration from my daily work as a textile artist and my love for 40s-60s western- and work wear, the collection includes one pair of jeans, one pair of duck canvas work pants, a flannel shirt, a wrap dress/coat, two blankets and a blanket jacket.
The colors depicts my roots in the High Coast area of Sweden, a unique landscape where high mountains steep right into the Baltic ocean. Pine forests and salty rocks - pitch dark in the winter and bright light and sunny in the summer. Contrasts that can be seen in the two blankets, Midnight Dazzler and Treasure Trail; both scaled up from my hand woven originals, the first in a classic southern Swedish “blixtrölakan” pattern and the second one entirely made from a curiosity of exploring the endless possibilities of the technique.
The collaboration began in spring 2019 and was released in september 2020. The garments are made in Portugal and the blankets in Norway. The whole collection can be found here .
